About this site

I'm an occasional safety researcher, lecturer, professional, and consultant working at the intersection of work ethnography and safety. Most of what ends up on this site started somewhere else. That could be on a mine site's JSA paperwork, in a meeting that went off agenda, a pattern I noticed in the field I wanted to sit with longer, or a gut-feeling I wish I could have expressed earlier.

This blog exists because I need somewhere to think out loud. Ideas that stay in my head, or are scattered across notebooks and half-finished drafts, are bound to go in circles, and probably die without their potential explored. Writing them down, in public, forces me to try and apply some rigour to them. Comments are appreciated.
